Natural inspiratory structure is relatively simple
The intake principle of a naturally aspirated engine is relatively simple. Air filters directly into the intake port and then into the cylinder.
Different from the mechanical supercharger installed directly on the engine, the turbocharger is installed at the exhaust end of the engine, using the exhaust gas from the engine to drive the turbine, the turbine then drives the impeller, compressed air pressurized into the cylinder, so the structure of the turbocharged engine is more complex than that of the natural aspiration engine.
Natural inspiratory power output is relatively linear
The throttle pedal sends out signals to the engine computer, and then the throttle opening is controlled by the computer. The power of natural aspiration is more easily controlled. Especially in the slight operation, always keep the throttle at a certain opening, natural suction car acceleration more smoothly, acceleration is more average.
Turbocharger's turbocharger intervention needs to reach some specific request, such as speed or speed. If those cars with poor matching of turbocharger and initiator have a very abrupt dynamic performance, that is to say, the vehicle will move forward rapidly, and the use of the experience is not good.
Similar displacement of turbocharging power is smaller
Turbocharged starters are not necessarily fuel-efficient. Because of the turbocharging effect, a 1.4T starter can have 1.8L or more displacement starter power, but its fuel consumption is higher than that of a 1.4L displacement starter. Now, the trend is that many domestic cars use smaller displacement turbocharging instead of the relatively high displacement of natural inspiration, coupled with direct injection, variable valve timing and a series of technology support, small displacement turbocharged vehicle fuel economy is quite good.
Turbocharger Maintenance Requirements Higher
The structure of turbocharged engine is more complex than natural suction, and the working environment is more complex than natural suction. Therefore, the lubrication effect of engine oil is more demanding. Generally, synthetic engine oil is chosen as far as possible in the maintenance of Turbocharged engine, while many natural suction engines can also add mineral engine oil, so the maintenance is more demanding. It will be cheaper.
Because the turbine is driven by the exhaust gas discharged from the cylinder, when the engine can not reach the required speed, the turbine will not work. Especially now the city traffic jam is serious and the vehicle crawls at a low speed for a long time. At this stage, the difference between turbocharging and natural suction is not large. Compared with 1.0T with small displacement, 1.6L self-suction will highlight the shortage of low torsion. As a result, for ordinary household cars, self-priming feels smoother and the cost of later maintenance is lower.
